From the Mouths of the Marvels:

"Uses guns, mostly. Makes his own. And they say he never misses a shot. Good with his hands, too. Aced twelve men during a recent stint in prison....And you want to go up against him?"

- Ben Urich, to Daredevil, pg. 12

Synopsis: While Matt is giving a presentation to a group of school children, a young girl goes into a psychotic fit brought on by the drug angel dust and she violently flails out the window and onto the ground below. Matt swiftly changes to Daredevil and carries her broken body to the emergency room. There, the doctor tells her she was beyond saving because of the angel dust inhalation. Her sister, Billy O'Koren, comes raging into the hospital, raving about getting even with the lowlife named Hogman who passed off the drugs to her. Daredevil realizes he has a ticking time-bomb on his hands, so he realizes he has to get to Hogman before Billy does.

Billy snags a gun from his delinquent father's drawer and heads out to do the deed. While Hogman's partner, Flapper, is passing out angel dust to his dealers, Daredevil wanders the streets disguised in street clothes, looking out for Hogman. A street gang descends upon him, beating on him with fists and bats, when suddenly one of his attackers is struck down with a knife to his back.

In short time, Daredevil realizes it's the Punisher, who mows his way through DD's attackers. When he realizes he's in the company of Daredevil, he introduces himself, but the next instant the dealer named Flapper is gunned down in the street from a sniper high up on the rooftops. The Punisher takes off, but Daredevil springs to the top of the roof, seeing Billy O'Koren with a pistol raised. But Billy says he merely fired over Flapper, not at him. Matt becomes Billy's attorney and tells the judge Billy's side of the story- that he wanted to kill Flapper, but at the last second fired over him. Matt remands Billy to the custody of the boy's Coach Donahue. Later, Daredevil gets a crash course on the Punisher and his activities from Ben Urich.

DD goes back to the scene of Flapper's murder and realizes that the real shooter was somebody above and beyond Billy, on another, higher rooftop. While he's there, he overhears the Punisher slapping around a junkie, trying to get information from him concerning Hogman's whereabouts. Daredevil fights him off the junkie, and the Punisher takes off as the guy collapses from a heart attack. Right before the guy passes out, he tells DD that Hogman can be found at Poppa's Restaurant.

DD takes the junkie to the hospital and then heads out to Poppa's, grabbing Hogman by the scruff of the neck and interrogating him. At the trial, the junkie gives testimony that it wasn't Billy that killed Flapper, but another unknown gunman. This lets Billy off the hook, and attention turns to Hogman as the killer of his ex-partner. But Hogman stands up and in front of the court declares his innocence. Matt reads his heartbeat and determines that he's not lying, and takes on his defense case. The Punisher overhears this and realizes he has to get Hogman soon.

The next day, Matt meets with Heather Glenn in Central Park and asks her to marry him.
