About This Book:

Wilson Fisk, the incarcerated ex-Kingpin of Crime, has a deal to propose to Iron Man: He'll use his underworld connections to help track down Captain America and his anti-Registration underground in exchange for consideration on his sentence. But can the Kingpin be trusted, or is he playing a deeper game? And how are the criminals of the Marvel Universe being forced to change the way they do business as a result of CIVIL WAR? Plus: Delve deeper in the Marvel Universe underworld in writer Frank Tieri's gritty prequel to CIVIL WAR: WAR CRIMES! Career criminal Jackie Dio is fresh out of the Cage and looking for trouble. When he tracks down some of his old crime contacts, he discovers a lot has changed in the New York underworld - and finds more trouble than he bargained for. If he's going to have a shot at surviving, he may have to get acquainted with the shadowy figure known only as "The Consultant" - that is, if he even exists.

Turk acts as a "buffer" between Kingpin and the prison inmates and guards. Hammerhead gets sprung from jail on a technicality, heckles Kingpin about taking over once he's outside. Kingpin meets Tony Stark, offers help with the Civil War. Hammerhead tries to recruit Slyde and Trapster to beat anti-registration, Slyde resists and Underworld kills him in cold blood. The Enforcers are now in Hammerhead's employ and try - and fail - to beat up the Kingpin. Kingpin offers SHIELD the location of Nick Fury's safehouse in order to win his release. Iron Man and SHIELD team up to bust up Hammerhead's super-villain recruitment meeting, from information gleaned through Kingpin's assistance. However, Fisk merely used Iron Man to get at Hammerhead who was shot and killed by Underworld in the prison infirmary. Kingpin had sent warning to Captain America in exchange for intel to set up Hammerhead.
