About This Book:
Hold onto your webs, spider-fan! A major character from Peter Parker's past returns! Meanwhile, is that the Hobgoblin terrorizing the skies? And if so, how is he connected to the shocking changes in Spider-Man's life? Continuity fans better break out their back issues, because both Spidey's past and future will change when an old (and unexpected) foe executes his master plan! Plus: Presenting 'Weblog,' an off-beat Spidey tale that starts at the very beginning of Spider-Man's career and goes all the way through to the distant future...as seen through the eyes of a woman who is convinced that the web-slinger has been stalking her her entire life. And finally, think Spider-Man doesn't have to worry about death anymore, having escaped its grasp in 'The Other'? Think again, as - years after his origin - Spider-Man finds himself back in the ring, squaring off against a masked wrestler whose name literally means 'Death'...and for good reason!

FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #5: "Web Log" A girl who was a high school classmate of Peter Parker writes a weblog about all the times her life was influenced negatively by Spider-Man, which caused her to go to such lengths as to get a restraining order against him.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #6: "Masks Part 1" The professional wrestler El Muerto saves J. Jonah Jameson and his son John from a murder plot. In return, JJJ sets up a charity wrestling match between El Muerto and Spider-Man. Flash Thompson returns to Midtown High with a job as PE teacher, and frustrates Peter with a lack of memory about the friendship they had evolved over the years. During the wrestling match with El Muerto, a claw inconveniently retracts from his wrist and impales El Muerto, dropping him to the canvas. Unseen by anyone, a villain looks down at the match from the shadows, ready to claim the mask of El Muerto.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #7: "Masks Part 2" The masked wrestler El Dorado shows up at the hospital bedside of El Muerto in a bid to kill him and claim his mask. Spider-Man arrives to defend El Muerto, and in the fight the "stinger claws" keep popping out. El Muerto redounds from his bed, he helps Spidey to beat down El Dorado. On a dinner date with Jarvis, May sees a figure passing by the restaurant she is sure resembles Uncle Ben.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #8: "Jumping the Tracks Part 1" Peter arrives home to find his Aunt May dead from a fall. He tells his Uncle Ben about his Spider-Man powers and eventually his uncle becomes his business manager and booking agent. Over time, they have a falling out due to Peter wanting more out of life than Ben's help can get him. Time passes and the two drift apart, with Ben carrying on a humble lifestyle while Peter seeks out fortune and fame. Later, Ben seems to be in some kind of time warp that finds him in a cemetery at the side of his own grave, with the Hobgoblin heckling him from overhead. The Hobgoblin offers Ben the chance to see Aunt May again and he accepts. Later, he runs into Spider-Man, who can't believe his eyes when he sees his Uncle Ben, after which the Hobgoblin appears and says he's from the year 2211.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #9: "Jumping the Tracks Part 2" In a future version of Earth, a scientist named Robin Borne is trying to come up with theories to help settle the rest of the universe. This action is a criminal act, and she is arrested by her father, who is in a sort of Spider-Man police force, for breaking the law that prohibits travel across parallel worlds. Imprisoned and treated with a nanovirus, her boyfriend breaks her out, but in the meantime she has been driven crazy and transformed into an aggressive personality. She accidentally "deletes" her boyfriend with a "retcon bomb" in her new identity of the Hobgoblin. She goes back to 2006 to harass that reality's version of Spider-Man, attacking his Iron Spidey suit. Ben has a face-to-face meeting with Aunt May.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #10: "Jumping the Tracks Part 3" The Hobgoblin taunts Spider-Man by replaying the death of Gwen Stacy, then fills him on her ability to "jump tracks" from reality to reality. Aunt May rejects Ben, thinking he's merely some kind of alien doppelganger. Suddenly, Spider-Man 2211 comes back in time and takes up the fight with Hobgoblin, his daughter. In the process, she gets hit by her own "retcon bomb" and is erased from reality. Later, after the two talk over the situation, Ben shoots Spider-Man 2211 before he can be returned to his own reality. -- synopsis by Gormuu
